In 2016 I left a successful career as an academic librarian in the UK and gave up my home and most of my possessions to go travelling throughout Asia, Australia and New Zealand for almost three years and write about it. The Imagination Trail is where I share my story. I hope to show that solo female travel is just as easy, fun and safe (if not more so!) as travelling with others.
I call myself a volcano-chaser; obsessed with these beasts since childhood, this was a big factor in my decision to go to Asia. But throughout my travels you’ll also find beaches, culture, temples, nature, cities and anything else that intrigues or inspires.
I am now back at home in the UK, working as an academic librarian full-time again, and travelling both within Europe and further afield as much as possible in my free time.
You can follow The Imagination Trail on Facebook,Twitter and Instagram, email me at rachel@theimaginationtrail.com, or get in touch via the contact form below.
I created The Imagination Trail to share my stories and hopefully inspire others to travel too. I don’t run the blog to make money, and the site hosting fees come out of my own pocket. All of my content is free to access and will remain so…but if you have enjoyed something I’ve written and you would like to say thanks, then you can Buy Me A Coffee and it will be much appreciated!
Happy travelling.
